The government of Tanzania is planning to build a major commercial highway across the Serengeti National Park, linking the Lake area Victoria with eastern Tanzania.
Scientists around the world agree – this ill-conceived project would destroy a priceless world heritage that has been protected by the people of Tanzania since the birth of their country.
Serengeti Watch is an outgrowth of SaveTheSerengeti.org, which spontaneously formed to oppose a commercial highway across the Serengeti National Park. It is a permanent nonprofit organization that will monitor the Serengeti and bring world opinion and support to bear on vital issues.
